About Us
Hello! We are the Spartacles, a second-year team competing in the First Tech Challenge (FTC). We hope to be able to go at least to nationals and win there. We are a diverse team based around the idea of community and respect.
Our History
We started as an FLL team of five, where we competed for two years. After our second season multiple members graduated out of FLL. In order to continue to the next level in the FIRST program, some of the FLL alumni talked together and FTC Team Spartacles was born.

When we started the FTC team we sought to be a student-lead team that took guidance from mentors. The original team of five formed late in summer of 2015. We registered in September of 2015 but had neither the funds nor the skills to build a robot and compete. We worked through the season learning from other teams and doing yard work to fund our next season. During that year we learned about CAD, Android Studio, and Tetrix. Doing yard work completely funded our team for the 2015-16 season.

In late fall of 2016 we were happy to welcome four new members to our team. We also welcomed an old mentor to our team who agreed to step into a full time role on our team. With all the new members to the teams we slowed our progress on the robot and taught our new team members what we had learned over the past year. We feel that we are ready for the upcoming season with our older, more experienced members, and new ideas from the new team members.

After the 2016-2017 season, we said goodbye to three of our members graduating from FTC. We began recruiting, and now we have gained three new members, although one has not officially been signed up yet.
